My Christmas Shopping Experience

Standard

Tonight, after I finished up with finals at school, I decided to go Christmas shopping. I went to stores # 1, 2, and 3. On my way out of store #3, I was surprised to see a police vehicle blocking my own in the parking lot. I walked out, and a police officer and a younger plainclothes officer were standing outside waiting for me. They asked for my ID and were questioning me about what I had been doing, who I was with, and what I was shopping for. I told the truth, that I was out Christmas shopping, by myself. When the first officer initially asked what I was shopping for, I told the truth and said that I was looking for Justin Bieber and Angry Birds stuff  (presents for younger siblings). I don’t think he believed me.

After the sergeant came, we went back to store #1 to “have a chat” with the store’s security guy. Turns out they thought I had shoplifted, and that I had an accomplice. (*I had left the store at the same time as the real thieves, who just happened to be parked right by my vehicle)

The security guy came out, took one look at me and the plainclothes officer (he was standing by me) and said, “Nope, it wasn’t those two” (he must have thought we were a couple).

While the whole situation made me really uneasy, nothing in the world has ever felt better than being confident in the truth.

Have a great week!

p.s. Praise the Lord that I made it through finals week and my EMT test!!!! ~He is faithful
