Happy Valentine’s Day!!! (from a single girl)


All over facebook today I have seen negative posts about hating February 14th and it being “singles awareness” day. Our culture makes Valentine’s day out to be a day where you can only be happy if you’re with someone, but why do we have to go along with it and make ourselves miserable?

Are we so pathetic that we have to make it all about ourselves and hate on people who are in love? Why not rather show love to people who are really alone – the shut-ins, the elderly, those who have lost someone they love?

It’s not always easy to be single, sometimes its really hard and can be painful; but we can still look at this time in our lives as being a season – it won’t last forever – and choose to learn and grow during this time.

Have you told someone you love them today? Have you made someone else’s day better rather than complaining about your own lack of self-esteem?
